About
United States Antimony Corporation Common Stock (UAMY) is a producer of antimony, zeolite, and precious metals operating in the United States and Canada. The company is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and was founded in 1968. It is known for supplying antimony products used in flame retardants and other industrial applications, along with zeolite for a wide range of agricultural and environmental uses.
The company runs through two segments, Antimony and Zeolite. Its antimony trioxide is used mainly with a halogen to create flame retardant systems for plastics, rubber, fiberglass, textiles, paints, coatings, and paper, and it also serves as a color fastener in paints and as a phosphorescent agent in fluorescent light bulbs. The company supplies antimony metal for bearings, storage batteries, and ordnance, and antimony trisulfide used as a primer in ammunition.
In its zeolite business, United States Antimony Corporation offers coarse and fine grades for many purposes, including soil amendment and fertilizer, water filtration, mine ventilation, sewage treatment, nuclear waste and other environmental cleanup, odor control, and gas separation. Zeolite is also sold for animal nutrition, catalysts, petroleum refining, concrete, solar energy and heat exchange, desiccants, pellet binding, horse and kitty litter, floor cleaner, traction control, ammonia removal from mining waste, and as a carrier for insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides. In addition, the company recovers unrefined and refined gold and silver, giving it a precious metals component alongside its core industrial mineral lines.
