MFS High Yield Municipal Trust is a diversified, closed-end management investment company that seeks to provide high current income, generally exempt from federal income taxes, with a secondary objective of preserving capital. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets, including assets attributable to preferred shares and borrowings for investment purposes, in tax-exempt bonds and tax-exempt notes. The portfolio is managed by portfolio managers Jason R. Kosty, Geoffrey L. Schechter, and Michael L. Dawson, and benchmarks its performance against the Barclays Municipal Bond Index. As a closed-end fund, shares are only available for purchase or sale on the NYSE at the current market price, providing investors with access to a professionally managed portfolio of high-yield municipal securities.
