Golub Capital BDC, Inc. is a business development company that primarily invests in senior secured, one-stop (unitranche), and mezzanine loans of U.S. middle-market companies. The company is externally managed by an affiliate of Golub Capital, a leading credit asset manager. GBDC's investment portfolio consists primarily of debt investments in privately-held companies with revenues between $75 million and $1 billion, focusing on sponsor-backed and non-sponsor transactions. As a BDC, the company is required to distribute substantially all of its taxable income to shareholders as dividends.
