Dorchester Minerals, L.P. is a publicly traded partnership that acquires, owns, and manages producing and nonproducing natural gas and crude oil royalty, net profits, and leasehold interests. The partnership operates primarily in the Permian Basin in West Texas, the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas, and the Anadarko Basin in Oklahoma. Dorchester generates revenue from mineral interests without the capital expenditures associated with drilling and operating wells. As an MLP structure, it provides tax-advantaged distributions to unitholders from its royalty and mineral interest income.
